Codex (development)

The CODEX installation is inspired by Illuminated Manuscripts, and like them it combines bespoke words and image, but re-imagined as an open book that lights up in the night sky.
Before the invention of printing all books were hand-written. The most luxurious manuscripts, laboriously crafted in many world cultures over a 1,000 year period, were lit up by decoration and pictures to create dazzling and intriguing objects.
Our Codex is hand coded to combine text and image: special illustrations that the audience controls through a 3-D camera, together with live poetry fragments and Twitter texts.
